Many have a good social and supportive network, however, sometimes it is hard to open up and talk about our daily struggles.
Psychotherapy offers us space where we can explore our mental health problems without fear of being judged or criticised.

My name is Dorotea and I am an experienced psychotherapy trainee based in Angel, Islington, north London. I am a UKCP member, which means that I adhere to the UKCP code of ethics. I have been in training at the Metanoia Institute, which is a pioneering research institute for relational approaches to psychotherapy.
I can help you to understand the relationship beyond a simple indication of healthy vs. unhealthy interpersonal dynamics.
We will be using the relationship as a meaning-making tool. I firmly believe that nobody knows yourself better than you. However, sometimes, this knowledge is not yet articulated in a way that you can effectively use it.
Bringing the unconscious material into awareness is a process. This process is co-constructed by the psychotherapist and the client equally. In therapy, we are both put to work. This is what I understand as a therapeutic relationship, between two subjectivities, that have the possibility to co-create a third space, space of intersubjectivity.
The approach to psychotherapy can take many forms and explore different aspects of what constitutes our personality.
The vehicle for this exploration is a relationship that is non-judgemental, reliable and strong enough to sustain the process of change.
